Discarded but not Down

I found this poor guy hanging out in the weeds in the middle of Los Angeles yesterday. I found him about a mile from the Dumpster I posted yesterday, maybe he was on his way there? :)

I processed this in Color first. But it didn't have the feeling I wanted, the colors made it too cheery looking. So I processed it in B&W, added some grunge to it from Topaz Textures. Then Iayered them and changed the opacity to let 20% of the color to blend in with the B&W. I think that let just a bit of faded color to match the mood I was looking for.

All comments are welcome,

Jim

PS. Thanks Iain for inspiring me to look for new adventures.

Just one arm left? In the words of Monte Python "A mere scratch sir". Someone got their money's worth out of this before the discard.

… Really nice Jim. Love the contrast of subject and context. Also the processing texture and level of colour. It’s a very memorable image altogether!

Ha ha... close.... it's actually... (in my best Monte Python voice) "It's just a flesh wound".... or there was the one Knight that kept getting his limbs cut off one by one.... and when he had an arm cut off, he told King Arthur to come back and fight as he has another arm.

Ha ha.... Okay.... so... I think I need to rewatch Monte Python now. As teenagers, us guys would drag the girls kicking and screaming to see it in the theater. The girls thought it was a gross movie, but us guys were laughing our socks off. I can't tell you how many times we saw that one.
