Dubrovnik Details

The Old City within the walls of Dubrovnik is a stone maze with lots of cool alleys to explore. When the cruise ships are in town, it is also a zoo of crowds. I dealt with that by wandering around at 7am. Here are some images I liked.

1) Saint Blaise's Church is at one end of the main road through the city.

2) I thought that the Jesuit Steps were striking even before I realized that this was the scene for Ceirsei's walk of atonement in Game of Thrones

3) Random alley with no people. I treated this like shooting in a slot canyon

4) The Rector's Palace is behind the church in the 1st photo. I liked the columns

5) Another side road, this time with a few people

Wow - what a neat place to explore with a camera in hand. I love the random alley in #3 and your "slot canyon" treatment. The columns in front of the Rector's Palace in #4 is fascinating with different decor sculpted at the top of each one. The designs are generally similar to Corinthian style like the second one from the right but the rest all have unique themes in place of the traditional acanthus motifs.

You got lots of fun images in spite of this not being a photo trip :)

So cool Kyle! What an interesting town! Love the old school feel. Your slot canyon is one of my favorites.

The history of those cities is so cool as well have nothing here that can compare. I remember when I was in the UK that the cities just oozed with wonder.

Beautiful images Kyle. I was in Dubrovnik more than 40 yrs ago. Thankfully it seems to have recovered from the Croatian/ Serbian war. My enduring memory is of a small elderly black clad widow leaving her house with a plastic bag full of rubbish, walking through one of the openings in the city walls and hurling the rubbish into the sea far below.
