Emerald Glass Frog

This inch-long frog was on my cabin window. The name “glass frog” is derived from the frog’s translucent skin on his belly and chest that permits visualization of his internal organs including the blood supply, lungs, heart, and intestines. These frogs are tree toppers and only come to the ground during mating season. The green dorsum allows the frog to hide on the underside of leaves.
