First Macro

Good choice as an upgrade to your photo gear and a nice starting point. Macro work can be a lot of fun looking into the world of the small we so often overlook.

I won't be sticking with all Sony lenses because of the prices but for my first one I decided to do it. Can't wait to spend more time this weekend exploring with it. Also here is the actual size of that crochet piece.

You can ease your way into lenses. There should be adapters that will let you use your old lenses on your new camera body in the meantime.

I know of some people who are really great with Macro lenses, I never really was. I would end up doing a cheat macro look by just zooming in with a longer lens. But macro lenses are cool and can really give some great shots.

Good job with this!

Macro is a lot more difficult then I thought it would be. I've been watching whatever useful you tube videos I can find. This will probably be some thing I'll do a lot. I don't really have the time to travel much because of work right now unfortunately. But there's a whole new world to discover just in my back yard.

I ordered one of those adapters for the couple lenses I had for the Nikon. I hadn't gotten a macro yet though. Probably should have gone with a cheaper option. The prices of Sony lenses can be expensive. This will probably be the only one that I purchase.

Looks like you are having fun with this macro world. I was going to suggest you get a diffuser but I see you have one ordered. The diffuser makes a world of difference to get low ISO, high f-stop and dark background. I'll keep watching for your posts.

The cheapest way to do macros is to get a reverse adapter for your camera and mount the lens you already have.
Thanks for the tip. I'll probably pick up one and try it out. I Have also seen where you can attach a prime lens like a 50mm to a zoom lens with the right adapter. I had no idea any of this was possible till recently. It's all so fascinating and amazing.

Oh yes, lots of fun 😊 I haven't had a chance to mess with the diffuser yet but tomorrow I'll be able to. Hopefully I'll have some thing to share with it soon. Thanks for the settings tip. Looking forward to trying it out.
