Flakstad Church

Yes there is a building in this, but it feels much more like a landscape image than anything resembling a city. This was taken the morning after a fairly significant snowstorm. Drifts across the one road that extends through Lofoten greatly reduced traffic, allowing us to stop on the "highway" and grab a few snaps of this scene. The goal was to line up the church with the mountain. I avoided the temptation to add contrast to the scene and stayed with the hazy, soft look that was there that morning.

Any thoughts are welcome.

That's so cool Kyle. It lined up perfectly and I agree this is a landscape with that mountain dominating the background.

I have a similar issue that in scenes like this I am used to adjusting more contrast in. It's really hard to lay back and keep that low contrast feel. But it really works and enhances the image I think by having less contrast in the background.

Kyle,
This is a beautiful image. I really like the combination of red and white together. Works great!
