Found on the forest floor

Took me a moment to find that little mushroom you described but it was worth the search in the small scene. Nice macro shot.

This is really cool Amy! I don’t do enough macro photography but when I see photos like this it always makes me wish I would capture more macro images.

Amazing what getting close to the scene can find. I am experimenting a bit with macro as well and enjoying it.

It's not easy to spot, it's practically microscopic. Those green "fronds" are individual stems of star moss, if that helps give a sense of scale...

Thanks Jim. Macro is what got me interested in photography, actually, even though I don't shoot it a lot now. I was amazed at what new worlds opened up when you looked closely at details in nature. The macro mode on point-and-click cameras I was using 15 years ago revealed more than I could see with my eye, so I spent a lot of time on the ground having a blast capturing scenes like this :)

That's cool! It's a practical and economical pursuit as you don't need to go far from home to find interesting subjects. A few square feet of your yard often contains something of interest :D

Very cool scene, Amy. I think that if you employed more DOF and allowed the larger mush to be more in focus that it would be even cooler.

Wonderful imaging of the micro world at your feet. I, too, love macro photography, though it takes a particular skillset and vision to produce worthy images such as this one. My only tip would be to have the large shroom stem in focus, either by increased DOF or focus stacking (blending).
