Grand Geyser Eruption

Yellowstone's Grand Geyser erupting on a cloudy day. The processing challenge was in my attempt to get some separation between the steam and the clouds. Any thoughts are welcome.

Teasing apart details in clouds is not easy. This looks pretty nice. I like the steam enveloping the trees off to the right.

I have had good luck with Topaz Clarity for cloud details but judicious masking is called for.

Hey Kyle,

Very nicely done here. I do like how you were able to separate the steam from the clouds. This is a nice Geyser, my favorite though, and one I have spent many many many hours sitting by because of it's +-4 hours for eruptions is the Great Fountain Geyser. The scalloped terraces on that one just really speak to me.

I like the story of death and life in the image. On the one hand you have an abundance of water, but on the other, all of the gasses are killing the nearby trees.
