Herron Park in Winter

I took a hike up to the overlook in Kalispell's Herron Park this morning. This is one of my favorite local hikes - both because it is close to home and because it features views all over the area. I'm sharing three images and as always any thoughts are welcome.

1) From the upper overlook looking toward the Swan Range

2) Overlooking Foys Lake - which happens to be frozen at the moment

3) I went ahead and took a 5 shot pano from that last location, to show the whole area. You can the the Big Mountain (Whitefish Mountain) ski area on the left, the city of Kalispell below that, the peaks of Glacier NP just over the frozen lake, and the Swan Range on the right.

Neat to see more of that area. I like the winter views with the snow cover.

Most of my trips through Kalispell were either to stop at the Smith's grocery store or passing through on the way to/from Glacier NP.
