I like your fisheye look in this forest. It's so cool seeing the trees reaching so high into the sky.
I look forward especially to your IR photography. There are a few of us here who do a lot of IR, so it will be great to see your work.

Nice introduction Gerard. While some of us have been shooting as long as you few have actually acquired the skills to do this for a living. I like what you have posted so far with the abstract and the world of the ultra wide as shown above. I look forward to seeing more of your work.

And thanks for sharing your bio - I think the one category missing from the forums here is an introductory/bio post category, so we can get to know each other better. Hint... hint ... to all the moderators! I for one, would like to know a bit more of each of us here (if they want to share) it would help to understand where they are coming from (artistically) and would definitely affect how I respond to their posts if I knew more about their photographic journey!

I agree with you, I was surprised to see there's no introduction thread on this forum. I think it would be nice to know more about new members who register on this forum - and also about members who have been on this forum for a while for that matter! - I really don't need to know everything, but's interesting to experience how people came into contact with photography, what drives them to start photographing birds, people or old cars etc., the photo equipment they use and what else people want to say. Especially on a smaller forum I think it would benefit the atmosphere and the mutual understanding between members! Perhaps not a bad idea, hint... hint... for admin/moderators, to start an introduction thread, I absolutely support your suggestion.

Interesting suggestion - we have never had a Introduction sub forum and I guess there was always an assumption that many of us have posted so many threads revealing snippets of our life experiences we got to know each other. Easy for me to say having been on the forum since its inception almost 8 years ago and over 34,000 posts ago but that is a bit of a black hole to expect someone just coming in to catch up on
Adding something like this would require intervention of our Grand Poobah (@JimFox) since he is the only one with admin privileges at that level.
Hey Gerard, that's a good idea. We have used the Sit and Chat for that purpose, but certainly we could add that. I am traveling at the moment, but let me get that added in the week.
