Large Pine Tree

Along the road to Jefferson Lake there are several nice beaver ponds. The pond below is in the middle of a pind forest. I isolated this large pine tree overlooking the beaver pond and showing lots of pine tree around the pond. The clouds in the background added a nice touch to the scene! ;)

Looks like a spruce judging by the downward facing cones up near the top. These and firs are the dominant conifers west of the Cascades in the Pacific NW. They typically only grow at high elevations farther inland and can grow over 200' tall in an old forest up here.

Thanks. for the comment ALan, appreciated! ;)
You are right that is a spruce tree and they do grow at high altitude in the Rockies, but not in the 200 feet range. :)
