Lunar Eclipse + edit

I wasn't very hopeful of being able to view this given the way the day went. We had rain, hail and clouds all day. I was on my way back home around 9pm last night and the moon was behind the clouds. Around 9:30 I saw some clearing and the eclipse was just starting. I grabbed my setup with 100-400 @ 400 mounted on the 5D Mark IV and grabbed the first image. From then on the clouds cleared around the moon and were quite heavy in the other direction. Took quite a few shots as the eclipse was progressing. The second image is near full eclipse taken with a full spectrum modified SL3 again with the 100-400 fully extended to 400mm.

Very nice. The shot during full eclipse seems to be a bit out of focus but the colors are beautiful.

No breaks in the clouds down here at all.

Thanks Alan. It is the movement of the moon as the shot is over 1s given that it was quite dark with the shadow. I had the ISO all the way up to 3200. And I ended up posting the wrong image. Fixed that.

I love how you frames #1, that's really super cool. I like the look of #2 but can't tell on sharpness as I am on my phone at the moment.

Very nice Jameel. I tried from my location but was clouded out just as it went total. Checked back 30 minutes later when it was supposedly at its darkest, and moon was totally invisible behind clouds. I like both your shots, they look quite good!
