I captured M13 for the first time about a year ago under an almost full Moon and with a dslr. Here I captured it under move favorable conditions and with new gear. It came out OK but the core is blown out likely due to the long exposure times. Next time I'll have a go at it with 60" exposures.
Redcat 51, asi533mc pro (gain 101, -10C), Star adventure GTi, Asiair plus, guided, EAF.
Optolong L-pro, 55x180" subs, Calibration frames; darks, flats, bias, Bortle 5.
Stacked and processed in Pixinisight.

Very nice John. Globular clusters can be fun and also challenging. I have gotten to where I like capturing them.

Thanks Jim! This is the only one I’ve tried. I think they can be good targets when there’s a bit of Moon interference and when there’s a short window.

I hadn't thought about that. I think you are right, globular clusters would be perfect for full moon situations. I will remember that.

Nice work on this. The brightness range of these does indeed present problems. I have a friend who showed an image of a cluster recently where he had figured out how to reduce and mostly remove the blue glare in the center in order to bring out more individual stars and star colors in the core during post processing. I will have to see what technique he used. I'm guessing he might have also been using PI for post processing.

Thank you. If you can find out your friend did it would be great to know. Thinking about it, I could use a mask on the core and try to bring it down a bit.
