Mr. Baldy

A young male Bald Eagle lurking in a tree in the Salmon Creek wetlands. I was hoping he would take off so I could get a better view but he stayed put for the whole time I was out there shooting.

Oh man.... the tricks our eyes play..... I read this as Mt Baldy, not Mr Baldy. So my first look at this had me going back to the title to double check.

There is a Mt Baldy here in SoCal, so maybe that triggered it for me.

Anyway, a Bald Eagle is always special. It's amazing how patient birds can be, they typically have a knack for knowing when you finally have stopped looking, and then they fly off. Most birds are way more patient then I am, hence why I do so little bird photography.

Thanks Jim - there is a Mt. Baldy in Arizona as well in the White Mountain area. The birds definitely have more patience than I do as I am more of a wander around looking for things to shoot kind of photographer. I have watched some documentaries of National Geographic wildlife photographers who sometimes sit in a blind every day for weeks to get 30 seconds worth of video of an elusive critter. I like watching their video but have no desire to shoot like that at all.
