Nesebar, Bulgaria

This is a Unesco World Heritage Site and 5 miles from our holiday hotel. Nesebar - Wikipedia We visited on a cool, dull but dry day, local bus there and back, and had a pleasant time just wandering around. The highlights, for us, were the Byzantine Churches and the one Eastern Othodox church which was open but had a no photography rule. The ancient churches have not been tidied up and just sit between tourist shops, houses and cafes. Ken

Neat history behind that place - thanks for the link that describes just how far back in time this place goes. I love the brickwork on the Church of Christ Pantokrator in the first image.

Sounds like a place I would have a lot of fun with :)
