Jim Fox asked me to post some photos of my new mount - a 10Micron GM1000HPS. I finally got a chance to take some decent photos and annotate them, so here they are. Although pricey, this mount has incredible tracking accuracy, as shown in the PHD2 guide plot following the photos. I can't wait to take it for a spin, but the forecast is for cloudy skies for the next 10 days. 😭

Thanks Bill!

This actually a good illustration of the common components to an Astro Rig, which would be helpful for those who don't know too much about Astrophotography.

Thanks for the work to create this, and your guiding is really looking great!

PS. I am having the same issues with cloudy or partly cloudy everywhere for at least a week. Being at my daughters in California, I have looked just about everywhere within a days drive and there is nothing clear coming up.

Bill,

VERY nice! I just pulled the trigger on an Astro-Physics Mach2 mount, so basically the same capability from a different vendor. waiting for a custom mounting plate to get made to be able to test it out some here in CO before I take it down for serious work at my location in AZ.

Gotta love these mounts with absolute encoders - yes indeed they have eye-watering prices, but they are game-changers.

Congrats on your new purchase, hoping the weather curse breaks soon :)
