Northern Spain 2nd day

Actually the 1st day of photography as we landed in Santander on the fprevious evening and just eat, drank and slept. Next day back to the airport to pick up our hire car and drove to the Costa Quebrada on a scouting trip. On the way we could see the snow covered Picos de Europa but decided that they could wait (a mistake) and explored the cliffs with their myriad sea stacks and islands. Blue skies, harsh light and a ferocious wind but this is an awesome location. It was a scouting trip as we were going to revisit at the end of the trip and I wanted to know how long to set aside.

As the day wore on the wind made it impossible to take images. So back in the car to drive about 100 miles West to the Playa de Aguilar, a beach that we had visited 8 years ago.

Lovely evening light, the only time that it occurred throughout the trip.

I love #1 Ken! That's such an interesting view, to see how that beach is just one large slightly slanting rock shelf. It's cool all of those Sea Stacks in a row as well. And then #4, that was worth the drive to get out there. That one is fine art worthy!

The topography of the coastline at Costa Quebrada is quite amazing with the nearly vertical strata in the sea stacks. I like the results of the long shutter speeds you used in your shots from there. #4 at the Playa de Aguilar is an exceptional shot. Nice work with that one. I like the last shot from there as well.
