One More Dahlia

Clearing out my backlog of blooms with a shot of a dahlia. Not what specific variant this is and pretty much got dizzy trying to find it through the endless pages on dahlias I could find. I am amazed at how many varieties of these there are.

Thanks - I thought the colors were pretty cool when I shot this in late May.

Thanks Kevin - I was surprised that I was unable to find the specific variety name for this bloom since it seemed so distinct. On the other hand there are an incredible number of dahlia varieties with equally outrageous colors.

I took lots of Dahlia flowers at Hudson Garden just south of Denver over several years. They had over 150 different Dahlia plants in their bed, below are a couple of my favorites (sorry I don't have their proper names!). A few years ago a Japanese Beatle infestation kill off the bed and they did not replant dahlias after that. I got a lot of the different varieties but no where near 150; I guess I should have shot faster!

Sweet - those are some pretty ones Larry. The deeper I dove into web links on dahlias the more my head was left spinning over just how many variants there are.
