Hey Yervant,

I am back from Death Valley and finally able to look at your image on a monitor. I enjoyed seeing it on my phone, but it's even more enjoyable large. One thing that is impressing me is that you didn't blow out the core of Orion. That's easy to do, and something most people seem to do in the beginning. So it's great you controlled that!

As to the stars. I do see a bit of elongation at the top and not at the bottom, so I will stay with my suggestion that it wasn't a tracking or IBIS issue. But I have to say, I don't think it's something I would spend too much time trying to figure out right now. The image is outstanding, the optics seem really nice on scope. You have the tracking down by evidenced with the majority of the stars being round. If I were you, I would just keep shooting the DSO's and growing on the stacking and processing end. The amount of elongation to me is really negligible at this point.

Keep up the good work! Any idea on what your next target will be?

Most appreciative of the feedback. I would like to revisit the Horsehead Nebula. I did some shots on it, but nothing I would consider great because it was near the end of a session. I didn't put the time into it. I would like to use my telescope more for photography as a prime lens. I don't have an autoguider camera with dedicated scope yet. Nor a laptop for that matter lol. All three may have to come under my GAS at some point. I've only used my telescope about 5 times since I got it in November. Just this once used it to take this one shot of Orion. I have it on the market. I think I may want a Refractor instead.
