Peak Red

Another image from a nice sunrise last Friday with what turned out to be the peak of reds in the scene. This is a 3 shot panorama taken at 70mm five minutes after the first shot I posted on Saturday from an altitude roughly 250' above the ground.

Thanks Michael - you aren't kidding about the speed of the color changes. This transitioned to oranges and yellows less than 5 minutes later and by 10 minutes later it was done and gone.

Thanks Jameel - I typically check the cloud formations every morning to see if something like this is about to set up and this one screamed at me to postpone my coffee and get my drone up in the air. It didn't disappoint. I have had a few sunrises during winter months that push the red channel hard and this was one of them.

Thanks - we get to see sunrises like this a few times each year. The usual scenario is an incoming storm front with the leading edge of the clouds overhead but not yet reaching the eastern horizon right at sunrise.
