Puffins

We are having an unusually hot spell here, into the high 90s but the forecast for the islands off the North East coast was cloudy and mid 60sF so off to photograph Puffins. I am glad that I had tried to photograph swifts before I went because puffins move fast, not as fast as swifts though. Many more to come as I managed to rattle through 1,000+ images in the 1 hour that I was shooting. Ken

I am always amazed at how they can carry so many little fish at once - great shot of this one in flight with a full beak for the kids.

I still can't work out how, with a beak half full of fish, they manage to catch more without losing the original ones.

I love Puffins! One of the highlights of my trip years ago to Alaska, was being able to photograph a few Puffins. They are such a cool bird I think.

Great capture and timing on this one Ken.
