Reflections on a Mirror

Mirror Lake directly below Crown Point in the Columbia River Gorge from earlier this week. The lake is one of many such small lakes that were created by the berms of the freeway between Troutdale and Cascade Locks. The Columbia River used to flood this area every year prior to the construction of dams upstream from here. Two panel stitch shot at 70mm.

Thanks Jameel - I think there is more color to come but this weekend's storms might strip some of it away. The weatherdroids are predicting a lot of wind tomorrow and the topography of the Gorge tends to amplify wind events - especially in the narrow sections like this spot.

Thanks Jim - that little pond is kind of protected by the cliffs so getting good reflections is pretty easy when the winds aren't howling.
