Road to South Park

My best guess for the cloud type is Altocumulus stratiformis and by visual appearance I would guess you had a storm front moving in somewhere behind them. These aren't all that uncommon in the Pacific NW.

Oh, the sky is so low, I smell a storm! Combined with the road and the landscape in the background, this image creates a kind of "landscape press".. but a nice image, Larry. :)

Very nice Larry. I am more for the standing in the middle of the road for these photos, but this one still looks really nice.

Hi Alan, thanks for your comments and identification of the clouds.
And you were right there was a rain storm moving in behind those clouds.

The road in this image was US hiwy 285 with a 65 mph speed limit and just after the crest of a hill. I am also a middle of the road person, but only on sparsely driven country or county roads! :)
