This is a place I visit once a year. It is high in the Uncompahgre Mountains. When I visit, I never want to leave.
Thanks Jim. Yes, I noticed the tree reflections in some of the test shots. I also noticed what looks like the big dipper reflecting so I made a few adjustments in hopes to get the whole scene. Yet another night I will never forget! Thanks again.Oh wow Ryan! I really like this!. It's a really nice scene of the Milky Way, trees and a pond/lake. But for me this one subtle detail just takes it over the top, and that's the reflection of the trees in the water! Had you noticed the reflection and so positioned yourself for this shot there? Because it's one where you could easily have moved back a bit or to a side and easily not had that reflection!
Really great work here.

Alan, some of the light is coming from a cabin on the right. I also used a small mag lite to paint the trees and grass.I can see why you would want to stay - nice setting. It like like great atmospherics for night shots like this. What is the light source for the foreground illumination?
