I like the lighting on this - soft but with a good feel for the depth of the scene. The long shutter is nice here for keeping the reflection soft to match the light.

I'm going to guess dawn Sometimes a scene is placid enough that no direct light is needed. If you could've gotten a little bit higher to get that tufa off of the foothill line that would've been a plus, but tripods don't always cooperate.

Mono Lake is such a surreal experience, and the longer exposure works with that. I like the light and the general feel of the image, a couple of ideas about it...I almost want a little space on the right, the edge clipping the tufa formation is a little cramped, and I might darken or burn down the brush in the tufa to make the tufa stand out a little more.

Comp wise, I was chasing the Tufa and the reflection, the hills in the background were less concern, I see your point Tim...Thanks

I like the water, I like the light, I like the place and the plans, but the reflection creates a more amazing effect.

I like this a lot, beautiful light, reflections and BG, i would consider cropping a hair off the bottom to balance it with the BG...
