Sunrise at a not so secret location

The only secret about the secret beach in Brookings is that it doesn't have any obvious marking to go by if you drive by the access from the road. However it is a very photogenic place and well worth the short hike through the bushes. This image is from a sunrise which was interesting but not spectacular. This was on my list to process but put it off since there were all the foot prints in the sand. I finally got around to cleaning that up.

The sunset on the same day was much more interesting and will post that later.

The biggest problem with a sunrise here is that it's coming up well behind the trees on the left and as you look down the beach with this point of view the heading is slightly west of due south. Sunset from here with the winter sun angle would be ideal. That corridor is one of my favorite places along the Oregon coast.

Thanks Alan. With that I like that it provides soft early morning light w/o having to put the rising sun in the frame. Agree that sunset provides the richer colors in the sky.

Super cool Jameel! I have been there, and it is indeed an awesome location. I like your rework and the time spent to remove the foot prints.
