Supernova in m101

This is a one 180 second shot from my light polluted back yard with a satellite going though on the only shot I took before the clouds ruined the night. I at least had a chance to get it. My ASI 533 is acting strange, I am getting a lot of hot pixels for about the first 10 minutes and then they disappear.

Do you know how long it will be in the sky? I haven't heard that anywhere.

Thanks Jim, Don't have a clue how long it will be visible. I wish I had a dark sky at least the galaxy would have shoiwn up better. Do you see the problem I just started to have with this camera. I start off with all these hot pixels and then they start to fade to nothing after about 10 minutes. Someone suggested since I live in a very humid climate that ice crystals form when you start to cool. It might be true.

That's interesting, though I don't think ice crystals would cause hot pixels? But that's really got to be annoying for sure. Hot pixels are a pain.

I am heading out to image tonight, though I was planning on shooting wider to get Rho Ophiuchi. But to catch that Supernova would be really cool. I guess I can wait till next time for Rho Ophiuchi.

Sony A7RV with a Tamron SP 500mm f/8 mirror lens, 3200 ISO for 65 seconds with light pollution here as well, some haze too.

You have all summer for Rho. I would go for M101. You can do a short time on M101 from a dark site.
