The Flower Shoppe is Open

I call the entrance to one of my local grocery stores Freddy's Flowers and always keep an eye out for interesting photo opportunities on the way in. They had some nice dahlias out on Friday right after some overnight rains with some nice light. There are likely names for all the zillion variants of dahlias but I have no clue which ones these are - I just liked the colors. I was a bit taken aback by the price tag on the pots however - $32 each

Thanks Jim - yes these were shot with my iPhone 15 Pro as I don't head into grocery stores with my regular camera gear. Most trips into the store don't feature photo opportunities like the shots above anyway so it's nice I can get captures this good with the camera in my pocket that also has my shopping list.

Thanks Jameel - that glow in the second image is what made me reach into my pocket for my iPhone in the first place.

That's what I was thinking, but wasn't sure. Taking a DSLR and taking photos might even cause a visit from the store manager asking what you are doing. But pulling out your phone to take a few photos no one would blink an eye.

And plus our newer iPhones do a really great job, that's why I had upgraded to the 15 Pro Max because of it's quality and I have been using my iphone quite a bit as well. All of my video's now are captured with it and I like using it for Street Photography.

Exactly - I'm quite sure you would get to meet the store manager if you were shooting with a DSLR without getting permission first. No one cares about someone yanking out a phone
