The Last of Fall

I wanted to grab some drone shots to test out camera settings on Wednesday before a long series of storms rolled in so I wandered up into the Gorge. I was expecting fairly dull colors since most of the fall leaves had already fallen down in the metro area and was pleasantly surprised to find some fall colors still lurking in the trees. We are supposed to get some ridiculous amounts of rain over the next couple of weeks so I doubt this scene will look like this by the next time I get workable flying weather again. If the weatherdroids are correct the Gorge could get well over a foot of rain by this time next week and there will be waterfalls in places that don't normally have waterfalls.

This is a two panel stitch at 70mm looking upstream from over Mirror Lake.

C&C always welcome.

I had to giggle at "ridiculous amounts of rain"!

There's more color there than I would have thought. Still some opportunities there.

Still a good amount of color in this view. We don't get rain anymore - its atmospheric rivers and lakes now. The next week or so doesn't look like drone flying weather.

Thanks Michael - I have already measured 1.9" since yesterday with another 4 or 5 inches coming by Sunday. I am sure this pond looks a lot fuller now. Might not be many opportunities after the rain stops.

Thanks Jameel - agree on the degree of wet. I already have standing water all over the place in my yard.

That's a lot of color! A great wrap up Alan.
Thanks Jim - I had no idea I would be shooting fall colors when I left my house Wednesday. I am guessing I will be stuck looking for breaks in the storms for the next couple of weeks.
