thanks john. there used to be houses near this, so i wonder if it was left by a homeowner.Love the nice minimalistic composition—and the seeming contrast in the “boat out of the water.”
the alternative was being knee high is marsh muck and swarmed by mosquitos.A perspective that only a drone can provide. Nicely composed.
thanks alan. i'm getting a lot of use out of the portrait mode. i never did too many vertical panos before, so i didn't think i'd use it much after the novelty wore off. the novelty hasn't worn off yet.Portrait mode works really well for this subject with the stormy skies above. I like the dark mood of the skies here.
thanks jim. it's my favorite shot with any of my drones so far. This, is perfect! The drone sure saved a lot of wear and tare on your clothes. Also no need to worry about stickers on your socks or water in your shoes!
This could be one of the best drone images I have seen. Hopefully @Jeffrey sees this.
thanks jeffrey. drones are pretty useful for getting into spots you normally wouldn't get to.Nice! What I like about this is that nothing indicates it was made with a drone. I like to use mine as a 'tripod' just a bit taller than my own. Just a bit more height changes the perspective substantially (as seen here).
thanks michael. The muted colors suit the somber mode. Looks like a b+w image that has been hand-colored!
Nice! Sure looks like it had to travel a ways cross country!i've had my eye on this boat in the marsh for a few years now. it's pretty hard to get close since it's in the middle of the marsh. so i flew the drone out and lowered it until it threatened to land. still loving the portrait mode that i didn't think i'd ever really use.

thanks dan. it looked like it had a rough life. or maybe just a rough ending.Nice! Sure looks like it had to travel a ways cross country!
thanks monika. the water was about 800 ft from the boat to the small breakwater you see in the background. that's where the mouth of the river meets the bay. but the closest route to water would have been 450 ft, 350 ft back to me and 100 ft behind me. i'll give it a go in b&w. the color version is what i always planned on to sell at a shop that's about 15 miles away where the bay meets the ocean. How far out is the water? I'm glad you avoided being eaten alive by mosquitos.
Have you tried this in B&W?
That's stunning!
thanksThat's stunning!
