The Perfect Cloud Window

Yesterday I got treated to the almost perfect scenario for a nuclear sunrise - clear skies off over the horizon to the east and an approaching storm from the west with clouds directly overhead. I had just finished my coffee and cloud see a glow to the east as I looked out the window with rain due in about 1/2 hour so I grabbed my drone and scampered out to my deck and was greeted with this scene. Mt. Hood has a lenticular cap and is casting a shadow across the whole sky. Two panels at 70mm:

Thanks Jim - these were just the first two frames I shot when I got up in the air. This sunrise went nuts with some unexpected twists with the shadow from the peak stretching all the way across the sky above and behind me

Thanks Jameel - if the sunrise had been 20 minutes later there wouldn't have been a color show at all. It's been raining ever since and we are approaching a couple of inches since it started. Want some of that too?
