Back on 11/11/2025 we had the Northern Lights Super Show of the Year. I won't go into the details in this post, but it was a bit of adventure to get to this spot in Wyoming as is often the case is when 6 grandkids are involved.
At the start of the night, just after sunset the Northern Lights was this incredibly bright red basically, that just blew up in the sky. Other colors came later as the red subsided, it but it was so cool to see the whole sky turn red. I desaturated the ground a bit because the glow of the sky just made the ground so red it felt so unnatural. It was red, so I didn't want to pull back on that too much, but I did a bit.
This is just north of Chugwater, Wyoming.
Nikon Z6III
Laowa 10mm f2.8 Zero D
20 secs
ISO 3200
I don't recall the aperture, it's a manual lens. But I am guessing as it was so bright out, I had stopped down to f5.6
All comments are welcome,
Jim
