The view from Jiufen

Another stop during the final-day tour of the northern coast of Taiwan was Jiufen. This little town is perched on top of a mountain and is absolutely swarmed by tourists. The town is famous for a pair of tea houses that feature this view from their balconies and serve tea and snacks in a really fancy way that make you feel much more civilized than you actually are (at least that’s how it made me feel).

Interesting view - forested but industrial and urban at the same time. I like all the layering in the mountains.

What a fun experience Michael!

It's so interesting that in like every fold of a hill that there is construction and buildings. That makes for a very intriguing photo.
