I had recently seen some shots with this technique and on a whim, I panned the camera vertically during the exposure. It was my last shot of the day and I only made one attempt. It came out a little abstract-y for my norm, but it grew on me and has become one of my favorites from the cypress swamp.

Hey Barry,

This definitely has an abstract feel to it. The B&W works well with the look of it too. Very nice indeed!

Pretty wild landscape, Barry. Part of the fun and mystery of motion blur panning is that you don't know what happened! Very nice.

Still scratching my head over this one Barry - it reminds me of mistakes like when I bump my tripod :rolleyes:

That aside it is an interesting effect since it is specific to the vertical plane which matches the scene orientation in the first place.....
