Great Sand Dunes National Park, CO
Yes, both were giving me the “finger”—but I didn’t take it personally! Those Saguaro in the Colossal Cave Park image appear to be making a personal statement.![]()
Very beautiful desert images Alan! The Death Valley and Toadstools are perhaps my favorites—I also love the color layers depicted in the Bisti image—nice! The San Rafael Swell image’s composition is well framed. The Painted Hills do seem to be with the beautiful warm colors in the midst of green. Love them all and thank you for sharing Alan!Paria Toadstools along US89:

Trent, I love the Sand Hills landscape you shared with the very blue sky and desert below—nice! I love the “Boot Hill” structure, from this viewpoint some appear wearable! (Probably none with my size—14!)I love your imagination John.. Superb intro graphics and wonderful examples for us to follow.
We have a couple of areas in Saskatchewan that are desert-like. One is way up north and I have not been to that one. The closest one is about a two hour drive away and I have been there. It is called the Great Sand Hills and is a very unique area with plants and animals found nowhere else in the area.

This is ranching country with a strong cowboy presence and people put old boots on this structure.

Craig, thank you for sharing these five beautiful desert images—very beautiful! I love the colors and layers in “Uplift”—very nice and a favorite. I love the wide expanse captured in the Great South Desert—another favorite. “Jagged Edge” maybe my favorite of favorites, great capture—and title! Of course, “Backside of Nowhere” with the perfect framing with the two predominant colors—sky and distant mountain paired with the monochomatic foreground of browns—again love the title! I also love the view captured in “The Goblin’s Back”—very nice as well.A few desert pictures, or a dry region...
