Views Around Hamnøy

I've finally processed some daytime images from Hamnøy, which is probably the most iconic spot in Lofoten. I've also put together a short video, that includes some drone footage contributed by my friend Alejandro so you can get an idea of what the landscape looks like in the area.

1) The classic morning view, covered in fresh snow, taken from the bridge leading to Sakrisøy

2) Climbing down to the rocks below, you get a different view of the cabins and mountain

3) This shows the bridge the people generally shoot from

4) This angle is between the two above, showing the triangle-shaped peak that shows up in a lot of photos from nearby Sakrisøy and Reine

5) And because I can't help it, here is a "weak" aurora shot from the first of 3 nights where we got some color in the sky. If I hadn't had better color on the subsequent nights, this would have been my main take-away

And if you are interested, below is a video link with an interior view of our cabin and some drone footage.

Beautiful views that make me want to grab some extra fleece. That place looks cold although likely not much worse than Kalispell :)

The daytime shots are really nice although the night shot steals my attention away from them. How much daylight do they get there this time of year?

We had sunrise at 9 and sunset at 3:30 in early February when we were there. I thought that gave a good mix of daylight opportunities and Aurora darkness. The sun is so far south that the light is really nice even at noon.

Very cool images Kyle. For as great as the night time shots are from there, I would say the daytime look almost as awesome. What a great mix of mountains, sea and man.

That's some great drone footage from Alejandro. Very nice and smooth. It looks like you were in one of those cabins right there? How much was the cost of a cabin for the night or week?

The 2 bedroom (with living room and kitchen) cabin was about $300 per night.
