Waterfall Wednesday 1/22/2025

Time for another round of water demonstrating obedience to gravity.

My simple offering for today is a small scene along the Wahkeena Springs Trail in the Columbia River Gorge. The trail is a nice way to get away from the mob scene at the bottom of Wahkeena Falls as it ascends 600' worth of switchbacks to get up to where it flattens out. Lots less people by the time you get up to where these little falls are.

I am always a fan of water falling over basalt and this is a really neat looking example of that. Love the misty clouds overhead too.

Interesting how much of a slope there is to this waterfall given the visible overhang flanking it. Fun Scene.

One of my favorite waterfalls in Mt. Rainier NP. This closer view avoids the wide dynamic range encountered with a wide view that includes the peak.
