Lovely image Alan. This shows that even in winter, the colors can be awesome. Those yellow-greens really glow.

Thanks Michael - I love shooting the bare but mossy deciduous tree branches during the winter months. They take on an almost ghostly mood with the shadowy winter light in the Gorge.

My offering for today is a panoramic view of Latourell Falls in the Columbia River Gorge from a winter visit a number of years ago. Normally you only get glimpses of the falls along this trail because of the trees but once all the leaves have fallen there are alternative viewpoints. This is 3 panels in portrait mode.

Interesting view from this trail. I have not traveled that trail. Do the trees allow one to get above the tree line with a drone for a view of the falls? That is assuming drones are allowed in this area.

A mile upstream the river is forced into a very narrow chasm crossed by a narrow road bridge. It could be jumped with ease but one slip would be your last. This area is known as "Rumbling Bridge". I have been here with a fair flow of water and it certainly makes a noise, It probably lives up to its name after heavy rain or snow melt.

Beautiful work with these falls Ken - I love the scene in the first image but the last image with the different flows converging and at odds with each other is wonderful. Well seen scene :)
