Often, as landscape photographers, we chase light and look for the explosion of color, the perfect sunrise or sunset. Winter, however, provides the very antithesis of this in almost monochrome - form, textures and shapes. These often show up where we are least likely to look for. The image below is a roadside shot from Alberta, Canada as we were returning from a week up in the Banff/Canmore area. A glimpse outside the window from a moving vehicle caught my eye. We found a place to park a little further up and walked back a bit to capture this.
