Winter Simplicity

Often, as landscape photographers, we chase light and look for the explosion of color, the perfect sunrise or sunset. Winter, however, provides the very antithesis of this in almost monochrome - form, textures and shapes. These often show up where we are least likely to look for. The image below is a roadside shot from Alberta, Canada as we were returning from a week up in the Banff/Canmore area. A glimpse outside the window from a moving vehicle caught my eye. We found a place to park a little further up and walked back a bit to capture this.

Comments and C&C appreciated as always.

My first thought when I saw this was rail road tracks until I read your narrative. It still makes for a very nice visual winding path through the scene.

Hey Jameel,

What a cool looking shot! That is so true about the snow, and I like that track through it.
