This is a leaf I had picked up during last fall and left it in my notebook to dry. Here is a closeup of that leaf.

Nice. I imagine keeping it in a notebook helped flatten it out. Getting enough DOF can be a challenge for those types of shots, but when it's flat that makes a huge difference.

That is true Steven. The notebook helps flatten it out and also helps in the drying process as the paper absorbs the moisture.
