'The Eurasian wren (Troglodytes troglodytes) or northern wren is a very small insectivorous bird, and the only member of the wren family Troglodytidae found in Eurasia and Africa (Maghreb). In Anglophone Europe, it is commonly known simply as the wren.
The scientific name is taken from the Greek word "troglodytes" (from τρώγλη troglē "hole", and δῠ́ειν dyein, "creep"), meaning "hole-dweller", and refers to its habit of disappearing into cavities or crevices whilst hunting arthropods or to roost.'

Outstanding portrait of this little bird. Subtle markings but you did a nice job of presenting them.
Thank you Alan

I'm interested that there is only one type of wren in Eurasia. Thanks for these posts and the info.
Thank you Trent, it is a bit weird there's only one.

Thank you Oliver

I really like it's beak open like it's singing! Great timing Kevin.
Thank you Jim, it was singing :)
Excellent image, Kevin.
