Yosemite Valley Fall Color

There wasn't a lot of leaves left standing in the Valley when I visited, but there was a group of dogwoods at the west end that was a bit later than the rest. Some willow among the alders were all that remained along one of my favorite sections along the Merced. C&C welcome and appreciated!

Looks like you did quite well making lemonade for this pair. I do like the stark contrast in the second image but the first one grabs me for the interesting diagonals that the trunks provide to the comp. That is a very natural process job as well - crisp focus without excess sharpening.

Hey Tim,

These are so very nice! Way to go with capturing this fall color. #2 is my favorite, I love that starkness surrounding the fall color in the middle. I would crop off the right side though, that log poking in really breaks up the symmetry of the edges to me.
