I like the last light along the rim as a lead in visual.
The soft light gives a nice feel to the scene without harsh shadows which are there in the canyon normally.

The canyon looks really nice, and the Moon is a great touch. I'm not sure I'm sold on the foreground...

I like the inclusion of the moon, it adds a nice touch. But the branches that occupy a large portion of the foreground is kind of distracting. Bare or bare looking branches rarely work in a Landscape. Did you shoot the same scene but more to your left (Without falling off the edge).

Kyle/Jim - totally understand that the foreground (especially the bare branches) might not work for you. I do have some other perspectives and I'll post one for consideration.Hey Jeff,

What concerns me some is that there looks to be no shadow detail in the version I posted, but things looked better at home. My brightness at home isn't set too high, so I'm confused. Do the blacks look blocked for everyone else?

The blacks don't look blocked to me. A little dark right near the bottom, but it looks fine to me.

I don't see much blocking of blacks either, just appropriate darkness with some black. One of my pet peeves is the HDR look some people seem to prefer when they bring up detail in the shadows so much that they loose contrast and realism.

That works better for me. The dead bush actually didn't bother me as much as the grey rock with twigs sticking out behind it did. This version removes it completely. I might clone out those twigs just left of center, but this is much better for me.
