If you want something a bit more affordable wait until next week. There is a new Mavic 3 Pro coming out. Drone plus RC Pro controller is going to cost $3628 according to a retailer that flubbed hiding their ad.

I saw that one over on Mavic Pilots. There are several threads speculating on what all to expect but until next week it's all guesswork. At least one post suggests there will be a 1x, 3x, and 7x lens with a 48MP sensor. I like that as an idea but don't really want to be first in line to help DJI iron the bugs out

What will be interesting to hear is what the sensor situation is behind those lenses. My fantasy is that they all go to one good sensor instead of the dual sensors in the current Mavic 3. If it's just one sensor then a thermal option would have to encompass the three lenses. Is that something your group would be able to use Beth?

i'd love to see one sensor. not sure if they can realistically do that with thermal.
one of the cool new features on the 3t is the side by side pictures. you can sync the zoom or zoom the thermal / visible light separately.

It wasn't one sensor - there is 24mm 4/3 20MP, a 70mm 1/1.3" 48MP, and a 166mm 1/2" 12MP for sensors. It's a pretty heavy gimbal compared to the Mavic 3.
Interesting choice of sensors for the three lenses. Now that I am out of drone this is an intriguing option. Problem is I need one for my trip to Alaska n a couple of weeks

B&H website says deliveries begin on May 9. Not sure if that works for you. They do free expedited shipping for that price range.

the rc plus controller looks fun. love the rc pro, but i've always said it could use a few more buttons.
i don't like dual batteries. on the older models the dual batteries are not interchangeable with each other. we have a lot of batteries and labeled them 1a & 1b, 2a & 2b, 3a & 3b and so on... you can't use 1a with 2b or 1a with 2a. if 1a failed we'd have to toss 1b too, even if 1b still worked fine. i hope they changed that. also not sure about hot swapping batteries. for safety reasons we don't touch a drone unless it's off.

If that's true, then too bad, except for the fact that I don't need to buy one! Did DJI bail on the Hasselblad sensor?I thought Hasselblad owned DJI now?
