A memorable morning in the Olympic Penninsula!
Happy New Year!
Wow...no that's a triple wow...what a sky Mike.
You were there, Alan! At least, you were nearWow - that is a lot of red for one sunset. You should have put some of that in your pocket and saved it for one of those gray days up there with no colors at all.
What time of year did you shoot that?
Ahh - that morning. I came down with a cold/flu overnight and by morning ached from head to toe. Jim and Carlo were just coming back when I was packing up my car and were quite enthusiastic about describing the color show but I was in no shape to appreciate the thought at all. Thanks guys! It was intense!
You were there, Alan! At least, you were near. This is the sunrise on Second Beach, that Jim, me, Bart and Carlo got up early for (in October 2015) whilst you others stayed in bed at the Olympic Suites.
It was the most most intensely coloured sunrise or set I've ever seen and lasted for ages! Even the dark in which we arrived a long time before sunup was imbued with the coming red colour - sensational! I would have collected and canned some of it for later it if at all possible; as most times I am there in Forks it rains - or I meet up with Tim O'Neill, which always means clouds!

Thanks Bart. That was a great morning. Interestingly, we stayed that end of the beach and the others on the other side. I think we were all so fascinated by the great colour that we didn't want to miss out!Beautiful Martin. That was a great morning. One of the best ever for color. And that's when Jim got his fantastic reflection image on Second Beach. For the 9 days I was there, it was the only good sunrise. But we did well in the rainforest.
Bart
Ah yes, I remember now. We all wondered why you didn't come; and then, when I returned after breakfast, I saw you'd gone and was told you had the lurgi! What a shame as it was the best colour we had all week!Ahh - that morning. I came down with a cold/flu overnight and by morning ached from head to toe. Jim and Carlo were just coming back when I was packing up my car and were quite enthusiastic about describing the color show but I was in no shape to appreciate the thought at all.
Well, Jim. You sure got some great shots on your side of the beach!Hey Martin,
I jumped over this post somehow?Very nice work on this epic morning we had.
You and Bart sure had some great color on that end of the beach. I do have a few shots pointed the direction you and Bart were at, I will have to dig them up and process them some time.
That's a great description of it, Douglas!Wow!!! Smokin' Sunrise, Martin.
Thanks for commenting, Alan.Nice sky, I'd click out that hole on the middle clouds and back off the magenta.
Thanks Barry. You'ld have loved it that morning - you know what it can be in the PNWWhoa!! Just....WHOA!!
Nope.Nice color, but am I the only one who thinks it's out of focus?
