Juvenile Snowy Egret

This juvenile Snowy Egret was perched on a dead limb of a old tree. I don't know how he balanced there, but he seemed comfortable!

Nice capture - they seem to be able to balance in rather amazing positions when they get older. Maybe this is how they learn and practice

Thanks Jim; I spot metered on the birds body and placed that reading on about zone 6 and 3/4. That gave be solid detail in the whites without burning the highlights. This works for me on most white birds. I meter textured snow pretty much the same way using zone 7.
