It was in early February and my friend Lin and I went up to Rocky Mountain National Park to see if we could grab so elk shots. Just as we drove toward the park entrance on old Trail ridge road, 3 very large bull elk walked across the road in front. We stopped and grabbed our cameras, dashed across the road to follow the elk who did not seem to be inane hurry. the elk were browsing through the trees and kicking snow away to expose plant under the snow. The problem for Lin and I was that they stayed in the trees and did not present and decent poses to shoot. The shot below is the best that either oft from this group.
I said it was alright we should see lots more elk in driving through the park. Not our day! we spent several hour driving through the park and did not see another elk or deer. End of story, I guess I should be glad I got the one I did!!!
