Two from the garden yesterday. Plain birds but they still have good markings and it's the time of year when they all look good.

I never get over how a Black Bird can be brown. I guess they must be related to the Black Bears that are brown as well? Distant cousins perhaps?

Thank you Trent, I have a reasonable garden that backs onto some woods, so get a fair variety. Looking at my records, I've seen 47 different species in my garden.

Thank you Jim. Like many birds, the female blackbird looks completely different to the male, from where it gets it's name. Here's a male
