Thursday’s Task: Small fall—your interpretation. I will not post Thursday’s Task next week (6/13/24)––we will be visiting grandchildren.

John..I'm never sure which is better..Your intro slide or one of your images. I really like the single tree colouring the monotone landscape.
Here is my interpretation of small fall.

Trent, love your “small fall” interpretations—great images! The two mushrooms photos are perhaps my favorites and the rainy red leaves is another colorful and beautiful image! Thank you for sharing!

Small Fall to me says waterfalls and that's right up my alley :)

Alan, beautiful responses for this Task––love the second and fourth images the best but all are very, very nice! The small trickle from the bamboo pipe at the Portland Japanese Gardens especially meets "small" criteria and is a very colorful and well composed image too. I conceived this Task primarily because of the rhyme––also thinking of small waterfalls. Alternatively I thought isolated autumn trees might also work as well.

First image is from just below Bridal Veil Falls, last 3 from Wahkeena Creek in the Columbia River Gorge.

C&C welcome.
Michael, love all your beautiful captures. The Bridal Veil Falls image is particularly nice and the Wahkeena Creek waterfalls are well captured—perfect shutter speeds employed. The first Wahkeena photo with the bright yellow leaf is especially nice! The second Wahkeena capture is my favorite you’ve submitted—very, very nice!

Interesting task John. A couple from me - didn't have time today to dig more into my stash to find more.

Jameel, excellent images—no need to “dig deeper”! You’ve captured a beautiful “small fall” arrangement of autumn leaves—nice composition and my favorite. I also like the wet “small fall” Boulder Creek image—also very nice as well.

I do like getting close to small streams of water to make them look large...

1) Sunol regional wilderness - I photograph this stream a lot

2) Havasu creek, I was trying to take advantage of the glow from the canyon walls

3) Uvas Canyon - the back fall is maybe 10 feet tall. The foreground "fall" is less than a foor tall.

4) A small fall on the hike into the Subway in Zion

Kyle, again excellent images you’ve shared. I favor the Havasu Creek capture for the canyon-reflected color captured—well done. The Uvas Canyon image capture of the two falls and one predominant color creates a memorable image. Lastly, the Subway image’s foreground of “small falls” leading the eye to the beautiful background is well captured and a perfect composition.

Here is a little falls from a small stream in Rocky Mountain National Park. ;)

Larry, beautiful “small falls” you’ve captured in Rocky Mountain National Park—the streaming flow cascading over the rocks creates a vivid image—well done.
