i made it there late on a monday and planned to leave wednesday morning. the wind started kicking up monday evening while i was shooting the last light on the mountains and made it up to a sustained 65mph wind through most of tuesday. i left wednesday morning, the winds died and the lake was calm again.

Quite the contrast in the mood of the lake between these two images. I like the stormy skies in the second image along with the more calm water surface. Seems ironic to get all the wind on a clear day and the stormy skies with calm waters. Nice DoF with the focused rocks in the near foreground.

Interesting to see the two images next to each other. I like the choice of rocks in the first image and the skies and still water in the second.

Way to work the rocks in the foreground! That's some crazy conditions but you made the most of it.

thanks jameel. the rocks were pretty colorful in the water, they were a dusty white on the shoreline. similar to lake mcdonald.

I think you made great use of the rocks and weather in each photo. Nice work.
thanks kyle.

thanks jim. we had some really weird weather this trip. very few cloudy days, mostly plain blue skies or smoke.
