1. alberta, canada. i was thinking "i bet there's some canadian zombies in there." i liked it cause there's mountains and yellow trees and cool buildings full of zombies. everything i don't get to see at home.

2. my basement. i was thinking that the zelda games are the best. i liked it cause who doesn't like link, even if the game is called zelda.

3. my basement. i was thinking cinco de mayo was coming soon. i liked it cause tacos and stormtroopers are a great combo.

4. my basement. taken a few days after the previous shot, i was still thinking i like tacos. and enchiladas, too.

5. blackwater falls, west virginia. i was thinking that i'll take that same iconic shot that everyone else takes of this place with the whirlpools & waterfall. i liked it cause it actually worked and i didn't have to stop by the liquor store on the way home to drown my sorrows.

6. waterton lakes national park, canada. i was thinking it was windy. i liked it cause i managed to get a decent photo without getting wet, blown over into the lake or eaten by a bear.

7. badlands national park. i was thinking mary died of dysentery. i liked it cause i parked nearby and didn't have to hike.

8. waterton lakes national park, canada. i was probably thinking about tacos again, i don't really remember. i liked it cause it looks like early morning, but it's really like 9 or 10am and i like to sleep in. also, mountains.

9. fox. i was thinking that it was getting too late for handheld photos but i wasn't ready to head home. i like it cause of the colors.

10. the point in lews. i was trying really hard to think about anything other than the medical equipment, cigarette butts and chemicals that wash up onto the beach here. i liked it cause it's got stormy clouds and nice colors and the birds weren't added in post.

Delightful set. I never considered the matchup of Mariachis and Storm Troopers before but I like your results with the theme :) I like your road trip shots - I have been to Waterton Lakes but had a broken twin lens reflex camera at the time (in the late 1960's) and wasn't able to shoot what I saw. Neat takeaways from there. Great backstories on all of these. Nice work.

I am thinking ... it's been too long since I've had tacos. Maybe there's still time!

Great set pepper - 5 and 9 are my favorites of these.

Deadpool! That's so awesome!

BTW, Did you see that Deadpool talked to me in one of my latest video's on YouTube? Such a cool moment. :)

All of these are really great. Love you sharing your thinking behind them. Oh.... so I am not the only one who wonders why the games aren't called Link instead of Zelda? I guess Zelda sounds better, but it's Link who runs the show. :)

My favorites are #2, 4, 5 and 9.

Lovely images but your thinking behind the images is lost on me. Similar language but very different cultural influences. Ken

thanks alan. i'm more of a trekkie, but the stormtroopers are so versatile in photography. waterton lakes is pretty cool. i might go back again, but it's not top of my list of favorite places to visit.

thanks jim. i saw the deadpool thing, but couldn't listen cause i was at work. thanks for the reminder to go watch it again. the joke is the latest zelda game is called link cause you actually get to play zelda in this one.

thanks ken. don't read too much into the comments on each image. i don't think too hard about taking photos so there isn't much for me to write when i'm asked to do so.

Nice work, Favorite is #5
thanks rick.

Beautiful set I love the fox and probably one of my favorites out of this set. (Probably because I love foxes.)

Very nice and varied set. My favorites are probably 2, 6 and 9. I am a Zelda fan and when I look at #2 I see both an excellent recreation of Link and something that makes me wonder how you made it. I made it to Waterton (finally) this year as well and I really like how you handled the conditions in #6. I love the fox in #9 - I've been trying for a while to get a good photo of one and have experienced nothing but failure. Beautiful animal...

I'm a sucker for panoramas so #7 takes the cake for me. Great soft light and comp.
thanks aaron. i've always liked panos, but never really shot them before.

thanks alisa. i love foxes, too. it's one of the few wildlife gems we get around here.

That shot of the fox may be my favourite of all the pictures I have seen this year. Just a stunning image.
thanks trent. it was one of my favorites.

Your artistry is undeniable, Pepper... enviable too. I am most partial to #5 and # 9
thank you eric, i appreciate it!

thanks kyle. the zelda shot was taken in my basement. i used some rocks for link to stand on, bagged moss and the front trees are pieces of aquarium driftwood . the back trees were etsy specials from a diorama maker. the figure is from figma. canned aerosol fog and some lights. it was my first visit to waterton this year. i was there from september 30th - october 2nd. i'm lucky to have foxes in a nearby refuge, but that's about all we have around here. i'd be willing to trade the foxes for some decent mountains.

Nice and creative set. Very artistic.
thanks jameel.
